In 1986, he was awarded Ph.D. in Law by Kurukshetra University. He has been Chairman, Department of Law; Director, Institute of Law; Dean, Faculty of Law; Dean, Academic Affairs; and Registrar, Kurukshetra University.
He has also served as Deputy Legal Adviser, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, New Delhi. He was Vice Chancellor, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur for more than 6 years, before joining as Pro Chancellor in the same University.
