Faceless Assessment Under Customs

by Shweta Jain, N C Jain
customs Faceless Assessment
Categories: GST & Other Indirect Taxes
Publisher: Commercial Law Publishers (India) Pvt. Ltd.
About Book:

Faceless Assessment, duly supported by Paperless and Contactless Customs clearance processes is a critical reform. The Book makes an honest effort to explain the benefits and challenges that this new reform might bring in the life of the taxpayer, in a simple and layman friendly language with charts and diagrams for easy understanding. One of the key objectives of the “Faceless Assessment” is to ensure that there is no contact between the importer and the assessment officer for the reasons well known in India due to practices being followed in the authority. The Scheme also aims at exponentially faster clearance of goods, reduced interface between trade and Customs officers and enhanced ease of doing business.

The Book attempts to provide complete understanding about what Faceless assessment is, and its finer nuances. The Book covers all the Legal provisions, notifications, circulars, public notices and orders that are relevant to this Scheme and gives a holistic view about the current scenario and what the future holds. The Book also contains a complete compilation of the above in the form of Appendices and an updated contact details including phone numbers and e-mail addresses of all the Turant Seva Kendras (TSKs) set up on each port under this new assessment process.
