BSV Murthy :

Shri BSV Murthy, [B.Sc., LLB, IRS (Retd)], after graduation joined Indian Revenue Service in 1979. During his career, he has been a part of:
–    The project steering committee for development of risk management system in Customs,
–    The committees set up for considering refund system, staffing in Central Excise etc.;
–    The team which developed an audit manual in collaboration with Revenue Canada;
–    The Indian delegation to Sri Lanka and Nepal.
He received the Presidential award for distinguished service record in the year 2005. During his career, he got exposure to all the areas of indirect taxes and for 7 years from 2008, he served as a member of the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal and got retired from services in the year 2015. He continues to be active in the professional consultancy after retirement.
 

Roopa Nayak :

She is a Partner in Hiregange & Associates, a firm having offices in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Gurugram & Guwahati. Currently in charge of the consultancy & retainership divisions therein. She has co-authored several books like Practical Guide to GST on real estate, Central Excise Made Simple, Handbook on Central Sales tax, Students Handbook on Indirect taxes, ICAI Background Material [BGM] of Certificate Course on Indirect Taxes of ICAI and also the author of the 2/3 days ST enabler course conducted by ICAI.

She is an active speaker in over 150 seminars including State Chartered Accountants Assn, ICAI branches chapters, currently working on GST procedures book expected to be out by March of 2020.

She has been advising numerous clients from varied sectors in GST with focus on optimisation of taxes, cost savings, GST impact analysis, GST review services and resolving issues under GST law and procedural aspects.

She has been actively involved in sharing knowledge through seminars and articles and regularly contributes to Peenya Industries Association, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Assn (KSCAA), Pune ICAI monthly newsletter and Ernakulam monthly newsletters of ICAI, Articles on CA Club, Linked In for past several years.
