Taxsutra Atoll Presents Monthly GST Briefings with Rajat Mohan- March 2025
- Year of Publication: 2025
- ISBN: 0
Webinar Background:
As we continue to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of GST, staying informed about the latest legal and regulatory developments is critical for effective compliance and strategic planning. Recently, the Telangana High Court quashed show cause notices and final orders issued by GST officers, declaring them 'invalid' despite being uploaded to the GST portal [TS(DB)-GST-HC(TEL)-2025-67]. In another development, the Gujarat AAAR overturned an AAR ruling that had included the value of System Use Gas (SUG) as part of the taxable value for re-gasification services provided by Shell Energy India [TS(DB)-GST-AAAR(GUJ)-2025-68]. Referencing previous jurisprudence, the AAAR clarified that the value of SUG should not be treated as taxable, offering valuable insights into the treatment of ancillary costs in GST calculations.
As the government strives to refine GST law and reduce litigation, it becomes increasingly important for professionals to stay updated and adapt to the ongoing changes in the GST domain. While keeping up with these constant developments can be challenging, it's essential to remember the familiar adage: "Any change, even one for the better, is often accompanied by discomfort.", and hence, the only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it and join the dance...!
